Soole Along collects and processes personal data to operate our ride-sharing platform. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how it's protected.
1. What We Collect
From all users: full name, phone number, email address.
From drivers additionally: National Identification Number (NIN), driver's licence number, vehicle details (make, model, year, colour, plate number, seat capacity), emergency contact information, and a passport photograph.
From bookings: trip origin/destination, dates, times, and payment records (processed by Flutterwave; we do not store your full card details).
2. Why We Collect It
NIN and driver's licence: to verify driver identity and reduce fraud/safety risk on the platform. Contact details: to enable bookings, notifications, and account recovery. Location data: to match passengers with relevant trips and show route previews. Payment data: to process ride payments and driver payouts.
3. How We Store It
Your data is stored using Supabase (a secure cloud database provider) with access controls restricting who can view sensitive information — driver identity documents are visible only to that driver and Soole Along administrators, not to other users.
4. Who We Share Data With
Flutterwave (our payment processor) to process payments. Openrouteservice (our mapping provider) to calculate routes, using only approximate location data. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
5. Your Rights
Under Nigerian data protection law, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, subject to our legal obligation to retain certain records. To make a request, contact sooleandalong@gmail.com.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward as required for legal, safety, or fraud-prevention purposes.
7. Children's Privacy
Soole Along is not intended for use by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice.
